Welcome to Lance Hughey Crappie Guide Service. I’m a professional crappie guide on Beaver Lake, located in the beautiful Ozark region of Northwest Arkansas. My goal in each guide trip is to have a good time, with lots of laughs, educate and give you an unforgettable day. Catching fish is just a bonus!! With 10 years of year-round fishing on Beaver Lake, I stay on fish consistently. My method of crappie fishing is predominantly slow vertical trolling or what many call spider rigging.
Slow vertical trolling
Slow vertical trolling is a method of pushing 6 to 8 trolling poles slowly out in front of the boat. It's a technique that I’ve perfected and consistently put big crappie in the boat. I’ll teach you the method and show you that with time and practice anyone can catch crappie. If interested in this style of fishing or if you need help outfitting your boat, I’m available to help.
The Tin Can
My boat is a 17-foot Tracker outfitted with the newest electronic technology. It’s not a big fancy boat, but it gets it done. As a good friend of mine said. “The boat don’t catch the fish.” My years of consistent results prove it.
